New and nordic

Sølvi is a 15-year-old boy who suddenly becomes an “orphan”. His parents have built a house that is far too expensive and they are drowning in debt. They argue a lot, but have now decided to go their separate ways for the summer in search of the best paid work they can find. It turns out to be a different kind of summer. Arnar Már Arngrímsson was awarded the Nordic Council’s Children and Young People’s Literature Prize in 2016 for the book “Sølvi, the Tale of a Young Person” (Sölvasaga unglings). Hilde Hagerup invites us to a conversation about the debut book and about connecting with young readers through one’s writing.
